Beer Butt Chicken

  • 4 lb Whole Chicken
  • 12 oz can of your favorite beer (half full)
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp CanCooker All Purpose Seasoning
  • 1⁄2 Tbsp CanCooker Onion Pepper Seasoning 1⁄2 Tbsp fresh ground Salt
  • 1⁄2 Tbsp fresh ground Pepper
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil 


Insert a half full 12 oz can of beer into the CanCooker Chicken Rack and snap the rack closed. Rinse the chicken inside and out and pat dry with paper towels. Place the chicken on the CanCooker Chicken Rack butt end first. Baste the chicken with olive oil.

Mix the dry ingredients in a small bowl and rub the mixture onto the chicken. Make sure your grill is hot and carefully place the chicken and rack onto one side of your grill. If you have a dual burner grill, shut off the burner directly under the chicken. Close the lid. Most chickens are completely cooked between 2 and 3 hours. Times will vary depending on the size of the chicken and the type of grill.
