Buttermilk Cornbread

  • 1⁄2 cup melted butter
  • 2⁄3 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1⁄2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt


In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients and mix well.

Grease miniature loaf pans or spring form pans and pour batter into pans approximately 2/3 full.

Place rack in the bottom of the CanCooker and add water to the top of the rack.  Place 2 pans of batter on top of the rack.  Put lid on and steam for 30 minutes. 

Remove and let cool.  

Serve warm with butter and honey.

    I accidentally lost track of time when baking these so I pulled them out a little late. They were still full of flavor and melted in your mouth with the honey on top

    drizzled mine in honey when they were done and BOY were they GOOD! i have to make these for every party now
