  • 6 slices peppered bacon
  • 3 (6.5 oz) cans minced clams
  • 1 cup celery
  • ½ cup onion – minced
  • 3 cups potatoes – diced
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 2 cups whole milk


In a non-stick CanCooker Jr. or Companion on a medium low heat cook bacon until golden brown. Remove bacon from CanCooker and set aside. Add butter, celery, and onions and sauté until translucent. Whisk in flour and stir until smooth. Add half and half, milk, and potatoes secure lid and steam for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. When potatoes are tender add clams and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes. While chowder is simmering chop bacon into bite size pieces. Let chowder rest for 5 minutes and garnish with bacon.
